The fifth selection of old photographs and postcards of Fife captures the golden age of the postcard when a message saying "I'll see you at lunchtime today" could be posted off, confident that it would arrive at its destination in a couple of hours. Since most the postcards were sent over the holiday period, many have scribbled notes saying "Having a ripping time!" or "Raining again." Some were more intriguing, with one card sent from Aberdour during WWI saying "We have a crowd of Chief Petty Officers in the hotel so I have been busy playing the piano all evening. Won’t tell you what happened next but I was very late in bed!"
This trip down memory lane includes Newport, Wormit, Balmerino, Ceres Highland Games, Lundin Links, Elie, St Andrews and Kirkcaldy. It also features several rare images of the Mars training ship and the young boys who trained there.
